1. The Consultation

All patients must have a consultation to get approval for surgery.
Patients can choose either an office or online consultation.

Office Consultation
At the office consultation, your medical history is reviewed and a brief examination is done to ensure that the operation can be performed. This is the time to have all of your questions answered. Occasionally it may seem that having a vasectomy may not be appropriate because of a young age or other social factors. These concerns are best discussed at the office consultation. Dr. Billinkoff will inform patients if they have been approved. They may then proceed with booking their surgery on our website.

This is a brief appointment if patients follow these steps;

Online Consultation
Those who wish to arrange their vasectomy directly without a prior visit, can request an ONLINE CONSULTATION. This involves completing an online questionnaire which is reviewed in advance by Dr. Billinkoff. Those deemed suitable will be approved for surgery and will be notified by email. Once approved, patients may then proceed with booking an appointment online for a vasectomy.

Those who are approved will be charged $75 for the review of the application. This fee is non-refundable. No charge will apply if approval is declined.

Those who do not meet the guidelines for approval may be required to arrange an office consultation with Dr. Billinkoff before an appointment for surgery can be arranged.

The online consultation is designed primarily, but not exclusively, as a convenience for patients who live outside of Winnipeg. However, without the opportunity to examine patients in advance, Dr. Billinkoff cannot guarantee that he will be able to perform the vasectomy. Anatomical variations may prevent this.

This option is not recommended for those who are young, uncertain or know that they are likely to faint or feel excessively squeamish while having the procedure done under local anaesthetic.
